40% off TNW Conference!
Critics accuse the outlet ofjournalistic malpractice, privacy invasions, andputting the founders safety at risk.
(Rumors are circulating that it may be BuzzFeed News.)
Still, not everyone has been so riled by the report.
Supporters of the publication argue that theres a public interest in revealing the founders identities.
The pair are already public figures who giveinterviews to mainstream media outlets.
There is no requirement that the subjects want that information made public (they often dont!)
or that they be guilty of wrongdoing.
Are BAYCs founders powerful?
Thats why Forbes and Bloomberg publish lists of ultra-wealthy individuals and families.
The people on those lists would often rather keep their wealth a secret.
Wheres the outcry when they are named?
The disclosure could also prove beneficial to Web3.
BAYC is the foremost symbol of a movement thatsfrequently associatedwith scammers and grifters.
If the Web3 community wants the publics trust, greater transparency may be in its interests.
