I want to start by saying prior to today I had no dog in this fight.
I was a pretty neutral observer.
In fact my 1st tweet on the matter was right down the middle.

Well Providence fans were quick to point out that money had nothing to do with it.
Ed Cooley himself said money had nothing to do with it.
So money wasnt the issue.
As if that wasnt bad enough he was also actively recruiting for Georgetown while being paid by Providence.
Cooley even continued to say Providence was his dream job as recent as last weekend.
All while he knew he was about to jump ship for conference rival Georgetown.
This all from a guy who preached that he was a Friar for life.
Saying that he basically doesnt owe Providence anything.
People acting like he is jumping from Merrill Lynch to Goldman Sachs.
Listen Ed Cooley is a grown man and can make any decision he wants.
But actions have consequences.
No coach in the history of the Big East has ever jumped ship for a conference rival.

By all accounts Providence loved Ed Cooley and Ed Cooley loved Providence.
They were talking about building statues for him and were willing to do whatever they could to keep him.
They didnt insult him.
They didnt take for granted what they had.
And what did they get in return?
His players finding out he was leaving via a zoom call.
The administration being the last to find out.
So much for the college and city he claimed to love so much.
Give me a break.
If thats not stabbing Providence in the back I dont know what is.
Again Ed Cooley can do whatever he wants.
Just spare me the song and dance when PC fans rightfully come for his throat.
PS The Big East is gonna rule next year.
