I dont think Ive ever met someone who keeps their tabs tidy.
Oh, Ive tried.
Over the years Ive used various tab grouping methods.
Ive tried double-layer horizontal tabs.
Ive tried various extensions that allow you to quickly search for and manage tabs.
Ive even given vertical tabs, the subject of this post, a try in various iterations before.
But inevitably Ive always masochistically reverted to the default tab layout.
And other tab layout alternatives tend to waste too much space.
Then Microsoft Edgeadded vertical tabs.
Yes, Im one of those weirdos that use Edge as their main surfing app.
I made the switch from Chrome a while back, almost by accident.
It works simply enough.
Okay, that doesnt sound very exciting.
It didnt ask for any extra effort from me my main problem with tab grouping.
It just made it easier to sort through my mess of open websites.
Thats gone with vertical tabs.
Maybe theres a better tab solution for me out there Im unaware of.
Heck, I never thought Id actually stick to vertical tabs.
Yet here we are.
