People lean on these crutches to explain away bad things.
Curses and jinxes don’t exist but bad ownership does.
Curses and jinxes are often used to give bad decisions an excuse.
Obviously nearly every team would want Aaron Rodgers but even with him, you have a tiny window.
Why can’t we just develop a good QB like other teams?
The Jets haven’t made the playoffs in 12 fucking years.
They’ve had so many high draft picks and walked away with a dozen years of misery.
You know how everyone (rightfully) looks at the Jets as a trainwreck?
I’m old enough to remember the New England Patriots in the early 1990’s.
The best owner in all of sports, Robert Kraft, bought the team.
I don’t think the Jets are cursed in that supernatural events will haunt the franchise.
But they are still cursed in a sense that Woody Johnson is the owner for the foreseeable future.
He could have sold the team when Donald Trump appointed him as the ambassador to the United Kingdom.
Instead, he put his brother in charge and the team remained awful for the years Woody was gone.
So we’re stuck with Woody for a long time.
I don’t believe in jinxes but I completely get why people are calling me Robert Durst.
I guess I’ll take a stab at explain why I said that about Vinny Testaverde.
You’re always flinching.
It’s tough being positive as a Jets fan.
But I do believe in the rest of this team beyond Zach Wilson.
Maybe they they can get another QB?
I’d take Taylor Heinicke, Marcus Mariota, Nick Foles or Gardner Minshew.
Carson Wentz is a free agent.
Jameis Winston would be entertaining in the very least.
He also called me “an idiot” and that “I was old as dirt”.
So there is no question that he is a wise man.
I’m feeling more optimistic about this Jets team than I probably should be.
The Jets are now 6-2 when Breece Hall plays.
This may be a GREAT defense.
I’m probably being delusional with that take but that’s part of being of fan.
I do think this team can still win and play meaningful games the rest of the season.
I can promise you that.
