Meek warned Smitty before the series that he “would be up his ass all series.”
Totally normal thing to say about a co-worker.
Smitty has been pretty rational about the 76ers.
It’s not like he was talking all this shit before the series started to Knicks fans.
Meek also can’t control the troll that lives inside of him.
Even after Smitty threw poor Aaron Nola across the room, Meek couldn’t lay off.
He had to keep needling and needling Smitty.
There is a double edged sword to seeing NYC get this excited about the Knicks.
The city is even more electric when the Knicks are doing well.
It’s the one team that really does bring the whole city together.
I can’t emphasize enough just how much people don’t give a fuck about the Nets.
It’s not even dislike.
It’s just apathy.
The problem is the Knicks fan also get very cocky, very quickly.
Knicks fans are treating this first round series against a team with a banged up superstar the same way.
Celebrating April basketball is something else.
The scene outside MSG on Tuesday if/when they win will be outrageous.

Today, Meek Phill does own Smitty.
When the Knicks finish the 76ers off, Meek can focus his trollish ways on Vibbs and the Pacers.
That could be a really good series and the Knicks could absolutely win.
But Meek knows the Celtics will be waiting for Meek.
But that’s a facade.
No one who gets this excited when the Knicks win will be that relaxed when they lose.
The Boston Celtics are always waiting for Meek Phill and they will bring pain and agony with them.
