Metas feud with NOYB
NOYBs influence stems from co-founder MaxSchrems, an Austrian activist and lawyer.
His previous legal challenges famously brought down two EU-US agreements oncross-border data transfers.
Metas data harvesting has frequently come underSchrems scrutiny.
His latest case involves violations of theEUs GDPR data protection rules.
Such breaches are nothing new at Meta.
NOYB claims that Meta is now using AI as an excuse for future violations.
This is clearly the opposite of GDPR compliance.
This includes dormant Facebook accounts.
The company would collect this information without an opt-in.
Once the data enters Metas system, users appear to have no option of ever removing it.
One of the themes of this years TNW Conference is Ren-AI-ssance: The AI-Powered Rebirth.
