OnePlus TV review: great hardware, lackluster experience

The Q1 TVs feature mostly stock Android TV, with a couple of little customizations.

If youvetried a Xiaomi Mi TV in India, youll find this similar to the companys PatchWall software.

However, since its a VA panel, its viewing angles arent great.

However, its not so bad as to be deemed unwatchable.

Id have liked to have seen OnePlus tackle this sort of thing, given its Never Settle ethos.

As for picture quality, its a bit of a mixed bag.

Colors are rich and vibrant, contrast is solid, and the panel is capable of getting plenty bright.

If youre in a small living room like mine that accommodates about five or six people, its adequate.

The OnePlus TV remote supports voice commands via Google Assistant

But if youre setting this up in a larger space, you might want to consider additional firepower.

Playing games on the Q1 Pro, with my laptop hooked up via HDMI, was an absolute treat.
