For the past months the group has been struggling to reach profitability in France.
Already at that point, the group was considering cutting approximately 900 jobs.

Now, an estimated 1,800 employees are at risk of unemployment.

The company, which absorbed French-based Cajoo, was also placed in receivership and has filed for bankruptcy.
It recentlyannouncedits leaving France as well, while rival Gopuff already exited the market in January.
It remains to be seen whether this will have a ripple effect in the overall European market.
