Why, you ask?

!Im not legally obligated to answer that.

Before we start though, a quick note: specs arent everything.

Making a great phone takes a lot more than ramming numbers together.

So all this is a bit of fun.

It’s free, every week, in your inbox.

The 4a comes with a3,140 mAhbattery and the Nord with a4,115 mAh.

Lets see how that looks on a graph, shall we?

Well, thats not a surprise, the phone with the bigger battery has the larger chart.

God, I love graphs.

To put a bit moreknowledgeon you, the OnePlus Nords battery capacity is a31% increaseover the Pixel 4as.

What about weight?

But this is an interesting bit of bro maths: should it be?

Well, lets find the volume of both phones.

The Pixel 4a clocks in at81,947.52 mm3and the OnePlus Nord at95,147.80 mm3.

Now… what happens if we divide those figures by their respective weights?

Arent you glad we worked that out?

And… screens?

Another interesting element of the Google Pixel 4a vs OnePlus Nord battle, certainly.

The former gear hasa 5.81 inchdisplay, while the latter hasa 6.44 inchone.

But… what about pixel density?

The Pixel 4a actually comes out in pole position by this metric!

Its screen has a pixel density of443 ppicompared to408 ppion the OnePlus Nord.

As with most things, the higher number means that its a better chipset in the OnePlus equipment.

But lets dig a bit deeper and look at benchmarks.

In regards to the Google Pixel 4a, I simply pulledits Geekbench scores from here.

Anyway, lets look at it!

Yep, no surprise: the phone with the better chipset has better scores.

How much a day-to-day user will notice this is questionable.

What have we learned from the Google Pixel 4a vs OnePlus Nord battle?

Weve learned what we always learn: dont blindly trust stats!

Apart from that, the OnePlus Nord is by the far the superior phone.

On paper, at least.

It has a bigger screen, battery, and a better chipset.

But we should be careful.

Lets take the cameras as an example.

But that doesnt appear to be the case in reality.

Inour review of the OnePlus Nordwe found photography was actually one of its weaknesses.

And this is all to do with software something we struggle to measure in these comparisons.

I guess all Im saying is basically ignore everything Ive written and made graphs about.

Cant say I really care.

On reflection, dont answer that.
