I know people like to shit on the college basketball regular season.

It’s a niche sport.

But the last two days of Big East basketball is why you’re wrong.

I posted the 3 losers for a reason.

But this isn’t me trying to convince you to watch college basketball.

This is me writing about the Big East because it’s fucking awesome.

There’s something that just works with the Big East - from the original version to this version.

It’s my favorite overall league to just put on and watch.

First we had the Marquette/Providence game.

Devin Carter just kicked Marquette’s ass.

This will be more about the Friars because we know who Marquette is when healthy.

I can’t figure them out completely.

They have the pieces and Carter has taken a huge jump this year.

Improved his shooting, still defends like a motherfucker.

They also just don’t lose at home and now they can pile up some quad 1 wins there.

But the real story?

The Dangly Sack game:

I personally like Tyler Kolek.

But Dangly Sack got the best of this one.

Then earlier last night we had Seton Hall dominate UConn.

Quick sidenote, we gotta come up with some sort of order of these punch in of wins.

Me personally it’s this from closest to biggest blowout:

1.

Shit pumping

Okay back to Seton Hall/UConn, let’s be honest.

The real story is that Donovan Clingan got hurt.

Gotta get him healthy before February.

I don’t think it even would have mattered that much last night.

Spencer/Karaban were lost without shots going in.

Seton Hall went on a huge run in the first half and then just never let go.

It was easily the best they looked under Holloway - including the wins over UConn/Providence last year.

Maybe Danny Hurley doesn’t want to beat his college team?

Something to think about.

Finally, we had the game last night in OT.

Let’s get to the point.

Here’s the play:

Looks pretty simple right?

The call on the floor was out of bounds Nova ball.

It makes no sense.

This is why we need refs to do press conferences.

If Kyle Neptune punched a ref I would have understood.

Had to get that off my chest.

Dude just dominates Creighton and did so again.

Good luck figuring Nova out.

Okay, maybe just don’t play in the Big 5 and they can figure it out.

I will say, I do think it weirdly helped without Justin Moore.

Guys like Longino got thrown into the fire more and looked better.

But you gotta get Moore back now for conference play.

I once again never understood the preseason hype.

Yes, their highs are super high.

When the offense is on fire, they look like they can beat anyone.

Except they haven’t.

They have a home win over Alabama (who hasn’t beaten anyone) and that’s it.

They are 0-2 against Mountain West teams.

They blew a 14-point second half lead to Nova at home.

They don’t know what to do when the game slows down and turns physical.

I know a lot of words there but I wanted to blog about the Big East.

Shout out Dangly Sack, shout out Bill Raftery.
