When the NBA released their Opening Night lineup, that was more than enough to get the blood pumping.
Two drama filled games with real beef between the two sides will always play in my mind.
That alone had me already counting down the days until October 25th.

That idea was confirmed for me the second I saw Shams' tweet about our Christmas Day slate.
I mean, if that’s not perfection, it’s pretty damn close.
What an awesome slate of games from top to bottom.

Here’s the thing about this game though.
In previous years, maybe you skipped the early game.
you could’t do that.
Because the Knicks are good.
I’d go so far to say legit even.
Certaintly not a pushover and certainly not the dumpster fire they may have been in the past.
Will this game involve Dame?
Will Harden still be a Sixer?
But what I do know is we still get Embiid vs Butler.
You don’t think Butler will be motivated to take down his old team on the big stage?
I’m pretty sure that’s exactly why he’s been put on this planet.
The man thrives through spite.
If we’re also adding Dame into the mix?
This game should be even better.
Celtics vs Lakers
Not much needs to be said here.
The greatest rivalry in NBA history getting the nod on Christmas seems like a no brainer to me.
It’s been that way since Tatum’s rookie year.
I just have one ask when it comes to this matchup.
It’s what the people want.
No, it’s what the people deserve.
Personally, I’m also a fan of the time slot for the game.
Celts fans are well aware of how terrible they are at weird start times.
Mavericks vs Suns
It’s no secret these two teams don’t like each other.
The league tried to pump up the LeBron/Luka angle, but this is way better in my opinion.
Give me two teams that despise each other every day of the week just.
I just hope both teams are still in contention by Christmas so there’s actual juice to this game.
Especially now that you’re a superteam.
If that groupstillcan’t get past Luka….that wouldn’t be great.
Since the 2019-20 season, 7 of the games have been decided by 6 points or less.
Not only do you get the nod, you get the final timeslot.
Life is never going to be the same for the Nuggets in this regard.
Welcome to the big show, they’ve certainly earned it.
Given that we get DEN/LAL in the opener, I like that they went with the Warriors for Christmas.
That’s the bang out of genius thinking that has Adam Silver always a step ahead.
Game 2 was a 2 point win, but Jokic didn’t play.
If he’s active, a blowout is definitely on the table.
All in all, a great slate for one of the best days on the NBA calendar.
Scott Foster is definitely working the CP3 game, Tony Brothers is doing Celts/Lakers etc.
