From what Ive learned researching upcoming security measures, it looks like passwords arent going away anytime soon.
Why cant we get rid of passwords already?
But over time, the prevalence with which we use passwords will change.

Its easy to imagine why.
It’s free, every week, in your inbox.
Can we make authentication suck less?

The end result: fewer accounts compromised every time theres a security breach.
Whats multi-factor authentication like?

While various companies make U2F keys,Yubicos offeringsare the most popular on the market.
you might also get keys that verify your identity by requiring a fingerprint before granting access.
These keys together cost about $35-$45 per set, and Googles service is free.

At the same time, its worth noting that theyre not exactly foolproof.
Its possible, in some instances, to trick fingerprint sensors and basic facial recognition systems.
Behavioral biometrics looks at digital end users anyone accessing their account via PC, smartphone, tablet, etc.

So its all digital.
Hopefully, that will reduce our vulnerability to security breaches as well.
Until then, your best bet is to use a combination of authentication factors wherever possible.

Oh, and get a password manager too.
