Well its certainly been alongyear, hasnt it?
It doesnt feel like its still the same year that gave usKingdom Hearts 3andResident Evil 2 Remake.
There have been so.

And a lot of them were excellent!
Not all of them, but quite a large percentage of them.
Weve really been spoiled this year.

And speaking of which, its that time of the year again.
Im a longtimeDMCfan and I wont even attempt to pretend that didnt factor into my love for this game.

If you havent followed the seriess lore, some major plot points probably wont mean much to you.
That said, you dont have to be a longtime fan to appreciateDMC Vs complex, infinitely replayable combat.
Theres space for a basic hacky-slashy-button-mashy newbie, but theres also plenty of strategy for more methodical players.

But even selecting the winner from this category washard.
Like all Soulsborne games, its a bit of a challenge, though nothing Id consider insurmountable.
And his expertise definitely shows in the finished version of this crowdfunded platformer.

If youve been hurting for a traditionalCastlevania-style game,Bloodstaineddistills the best elements of those.
Spoiler alert: its a lot.
But the last entry,Fates, was a bit of a dud.

Its likeLimbomeetsThe Stanley Parable, and even thats not really capturing it fully.
Its also a game that starts very simply and quickly becomes a real brainteaser.
I do loveUntitled Goose Game, butBaba Is Yourequired a few more of my little gray cells to play.

The amount of content in2K20is startling,as he puts it: Experience-based character progression?
Multiple game modes to support both offline and online play styles?
Check, check, check, check, and check.

I do have to give a small shout-out toTrials Risinghere, too.
The remakebuilds upon the originalto make something that will have even the veterans on their toes.
The game isnt perfect, obviously.

There are some wonky animations, and some of the towers are definitely not worth your time.
